The work that i have chosen for the end of year show is titled detail 1-8. The work consists of eight darwings of organic matter etched on to eight pieces of clear perspex using a dremel and diamond tip piece. The imagery for the drawings was documented using photography. The work is concerned with pattern in nature, form, the sensitivity of the line while freeing up the mark, composition, the internal idea while looking at the intimacy required and the vulnerability of the work. I am also interested in the fragility and this can be seen in my choice of materials. I decided to incorporate my work in to the building. I chose eight window in a corridor in the college. The pieces of perspex fit into each window and measure 124.5cm x 56.5cm. The images work into one another as you move along the corridor also building in detail with the last one containing the most marks. The light is extremely important as it floods through the images which enables th audience to interact with the work. This can be seen in the way the drawing on the perspex is reflected on to the windowsill and up along the window frame. The images below are backup prints and detail 1,5,6,7.
