Description

This work represents the town of Killybegs in Co. Donegal. Killybegs is home to one of Europes largest fishing ports, an industry which once supported the town economically.
Single economy towns like Killybegs exist all over Ireland, places with no alternative industries available to them. With the decline of such industries, like fishing in Killybegs, there are consequences. The problems facing Killybegs now are largely being ignored by the government who feel their reputation at EU Level is more important then what is actually happening locally.
This work hopes to initiate a debate on whether or not the coastal communities of Ireland are supported in the appropriate way to ensure their working future.
