Description

What is Vis.Comm is a folded, double sided broadsheet that contains images and imformation about the four year, Visual Communications Degree course at Dun Laoghaire I.A.D.T.

Get Lost is my self directed, degree show project. It is based on 'psychogeography' which is the study of the precise laws and specific effects of the geographical environment on the emotions and behaviour of individuals or in simpler terms the vibes we pick up from areas of urban space. Get Lost is about playful/inventive strategies for exploring cities. It is about taking pedestrians off their predictable paths and jolting them into a new awareness of the urban landscape. It consists of an online community, a free broadsheet that would be distributed throughout the city, a poster to advertise the festival and one of a series of short films that would be shown on outdoor large screens at different points throughout the city.

Thanks   A huge thanks to all the I.A.D.T crew who have helped me out through the past 4 years —the v.comm class of 2007, Ger Fox, John Montayne, Paul O'Gorman and especially Dave Smith and Hillary Kenna. Cheers for all the support and understanding to my folks, family and all the gang in the west.
